V-Streme and Vetro-Grip are two waterproof fiberglass flooring laminates with anti-slip properties. They are lightweight, resistant to chemicals and abrasion, and available in a wide range of standard and custom RAL colours. V-Streme also provides a hygienic surface thanks to its antimicrobial gelcoat. The two laminates are used for flooring in commercial vehicles, buses and refrigerated vehicles, as well as in buildings, cold rooms, garages, storage compartments and service compartments.

Slip resistance classes

The slip resistance of the two surfaces is classified in accordance with DIN EN 16165:2023-02: a higher rating indicates greater grip under more demanding conditions.

  • V-Streme is rated R9.
  • Vetro-Grip, with its quartz anti-slip surface, achieves an R12 rating, tested for environments exposed to grease and oils and for food-processing areas.

V-Streme

V-Streme is available in two constructions: G-600 with MAT reinforcement and a nominal thickness of 2.0 ± 0.2 mm, and G-30/50 with MAT and woven roving, with a nominal thickness of 1.9 ± 0.2 mm. It is available in grey, black and white and can be bonded to plywood, honeycomb or a Recomplax core.

The mechanical data for G-600 are: glass content 25 ± 3%, Barcol hardness 40–45, tensile strength 72 MPa, elastic modulus 4.7 GPa, elongation at break 1.5%, weight 2.4 kg/m² and density 1.4 g/cm³.

Vetro-Grip

Vetro-Grip features a quartz anti-slip surface. The MAT range includes product codes from AQ400 to AQ1000, with thicknesses from 1.6 to 2.8 mm and weights from 1.9 to 3.6 kg/m². FORCE versions, intended for applications requiring higher mechanical performance, range from AQ30/30 to AQ60/30. Low Density versions are available on request to reduce weight. MAT reinforcement ranges from 400 to 1,000 g/m².

Properties

Both product ranges are waterproof and resistant to abrasion and chemicals, while also providing good electrical insulation and weather resistance. V-Streme provides a hygienic, easy-to-clean surface thanks to its antimicrobial gelcoat. Vetro-Grip instead features a quartz anti-slip surface designed to provide high grip and good wear resistance.

Common technical data include: free styrene content below 1% by weight according to EPA 8015D, thermal conductivity of 0.25–0.35 W/mK according to ISO 8302, water absorption below 0.5% by weight and a recommended operating temperature range from −20°C to 50°C. Both laminates are suitable for food contact in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.

Applications

The two laminates meet flooring requirements where low weight, water resistance and grip are needed simultaneously. In commercial vehicles, buses and refrigerated vehicles, they can be used as floor surfaces in cargo areas, passenger compartments, storage compartments and service compartments. In buildings, garages and cold rooms, they provide flooring that must remain waterproof and anti-slip.

REPLYES: from laminate to panel

For industrial floor decks, the anti-slip surface is only part of the solution: the panel must also bear loads while keeping weight down. REPLYES, Vetroresina’s multilayer composite for floor decks, integrates all three functions:

  • a V-Streme or Vetro-Grip anti-slip top laminate, forming the walking surface;
  • a Recomplax core, forming the centre of the panel, with 90–94% recycled content consisting of rigid PUR/PIR polyurethane, PET and fiberglass, and 100% recyclability at the end of its service life;
  • a P-MAT structural bottom laminate, available as P300 or P400.

The Recomplax 700 core has a density of 662 kg/m³, face screw withdrawal resistance of 704 N, edge screw withdrawal resistance of 527 N, compressive strength of 44.4 MPa and swelling of 0.40% after 24 hours of water immersion.

Vehicle weight

In an industrial vehicle, the floor panel directly affects payload and fuel consumption. For comparison, a fiberglass laminate weighs 6–7 kg/m², versus 15 kg/m² for steel and 21 kg/m² for aluminium. Within the European VECTO regulatory framework for heavy-duty vehicle emissions, which sets CO₂ reduction targets for manufacturers, reducing the weight of the vehicle body is a direct means of achieving these targets.

Formats

V-Streme and Vetro-Grip are manufactured in rolls up to 60 m long and between 1,800 and 2,800 mm wide. Sheets between 1,200 and 2,800 mm wide are available on request.
