Vetroresina produces polyester laminates reinforced with glass fibre usually composed of an external resin layer (gel coat). This gives the product an excellent aesthetic appearance and very good UV resistance. Behind the gelcoat there is a second layer which contains the glass fibre reinforcement embedded in a polyester resin matrix. Exterior and interior surfaces can have different finishes depending on the type of final application. Usually the external surface of the laminate is gloss or satin gelcoat, but occasionally it is supplied without gelcoat whilst the internal surface can be rough, sanded or smooth.
